Anxiety is a very normal emotion, and very much a part of everyday life. However, when everyday feelings of stress and worry become excessive, interfere with daily functioning, are difficult to control, interrupt our sleep patterns, affect our physical health, and/or cause us to avoid certain situations, it’s important that we seek help.

 

Examples of anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), specific phobias and separation anxiety disorder. You can have more than one anxiety disorder.
